He reads the room. Then the people in it.
Thoughts are named before they are spoken. Decisions are called before they are made. The sleight of hand happens at arm's length, close enough to check for wires.
Fifty-six people. Not one more.
At this size there is no far seat. The room is half the show, and it is different every night because the people in it are.
Six seats sit on the front row.
The Inner Six. Reserved front-row seats, held before check-in even opens, and a hello with Savio after the show. Six a show, and the first to go.
Volunteers make the night.
Only ever by choice. Raise your hand or keep your seat. Watching closely is a full ticket's worth.
The performer.
Savio Joseph is a corporate mentalist. Most of the year he reads rooms for banks, sports empires and tech companies. One weekend a month, he closes the door on fifty-six people and works close.
It started with a twelve-dollar magic kit at family gatherings. Nearly two decades later the road has run through live theatre, film, television and streaming, and mentalism became the language: reading a room with nothing but presence and psychology.
Off stage he is a sci-fi and film person who will disappear into a series without warning, a reader when the calendar allows, and a nerd at heart with a collection of trinkets that is difficult to explain and somehow always multiplying.

Good to know.
How often does ROOM 56 run?
One weekend a month, two shows a night. September 18 and 19 are the nights currently on sale, and the list hears about the next weekend first.
How long is the show?
Sixty to seventy minutes, played straight through. No intermission.
When should we arrive?
Check-in opens an hour before the show, and seats are assigned in the order people check in. Check in, take your ticket, then have dinner or a drink in the hotel. Seating starts fifteen minutes before curtain, and your seats wait for you.
Is there an age limit?
It is not strictly 18 and over, but it is not a children's show either. Twelve and up is the right room.
Is there a dress code?
Nothing enforced. Most guests come dressed to impress and make a night of it, and the hotel's restaurants and bars are the right excuse.
Is this a good date night?
One of the best in Toronto, and an easy one to plan. Dinner in the hotel, a show where thoughts get read from four feet away, and the skyline before you head home.
Will I be part of the show?
Only if you raise your hand. Participation is invited, never forced. Watching closely is a full ticket's worth.
How does seating work?
General admission seats are assigned at check-in, first come, first served, and your ticket shows them marked on a map of the room. Every seat is close. The Inner Six holds the reserved front row at $100, set before check-in even opens, with a hello with Savio after the show.
What if my night is sold out?
Seats occasionally come back. Join the list below and you hear before anyone else.
Can I book Savio for my company?
Yes. He performs and speaks for corporate audiences year round. Write to us from the form below and say so.
One weekend a month. September 18 & 19 is next.
The list hears first.
The next weekend, returned seats, nothing else.
Done. You are on the list.
